Steps : How to Cancel IRCTC Ticket Online

1. Visit official website of IRCTC i.e www.services.irctc.co.in
2. Then go to Booked Tickets link
3. Select the ticket to be canceled
4. Enter PNR Number, Train number along with Captcha.
5. After click on submit, OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number
6. Enter the OTP and click on submit.
7. After than PNR details will display on the screen.
8. Click on Cancel Ticket
9. After clicking on the cancel button, you will receive a confirmation message of cancellation.
10. Refund of the cancellation ticket would be credited to your bank account through which you booked your ticket.
11. If you canceled train ticket partial then ensure the modified ticket should be printed separately form the original ticket.

E-Tickets Cancellation Before Chart Preparation of the Train:

If you canceled confirmed ticket before 48 hrs of the scheduled departure of the train, then following charges will be deducted from your fare amount per passenger:

• Rs.240/- for AC First Class
• Rs.200/- for AC 2 Tier
• Rs. 180 for AC 3 Tier
• Rs.120/- for Sleeper Class
• Rs.60/- for Second Class.

If you canceled your confirmed ticket before 12 hours of the scheduled departure of the train, then 25% of ticket fare will be deducted and if you canceled your confirmed ticket in less than 12 hours of the departure time of train than 50% amount of your ticket will be deducted.

If you canceled your confirmed ticket after the preparation of the chart than no amount will refund to you. If you want to cancel your confirmed railway ticket after the preparation of Reservation charts, then you have to send an email along with all details of a train to etickets@irctc.co.in. After a full investigation by railway administration, your amount will be sanctioned by the Railway administration and credited to your account.

How to Cancel Train Ticket at Counter:

Cancellation of confirmed ticket at a counter is quite hectic task as you always found long queue in front of the counter. Here we mentioned step by step procedure to cancel ticket at the counter:

1. Visit nearby railway station
2. Fill the form to cancel you confirmed train ticket
3. After cancellation, you can collect from refundable amount from any PRS counter of Indian Railways before 4 hours of the scheduled departure time of the train.

Rules For Counter Ticket Cancellation:

These rules are only applicable when you provided valid mobile at the time of ticket booking. You can cancel your train ticket at the counter only in normal circumstances not in cancellation of a train , late running of trains and others. If your ticket is in RAC then you can cancel you ticket up to 30 minutes before the scheduled departure of the train.

They can claim for the refund next day, during the first two hours of the opening of the PRS counters. They can only claim for refund if they canceled the tickets whose departure time is between 1801 hrs and 0600 hrs.

1. Dial 139 in your mobile phone
2. Follow the instructions of Interactive Voice Recorder
3. Select option 6
4. You will receive OTP on your mobile phone
5. Enter given OTP
6. After confirmation, your cancellation will be processed.
7. After confirmation, you will get your refund from the counter
8. You will get refund only on fully confirmed PRS counter tickets
9. If the train is running late or canceled then your will not receive any refund
