You can just use many of the domestic airlines to book your flight and reach the Trivandrum airport. It takes approximately three hours to reach from Mumbai airport to Trivandrum airport. Also if you are coming from abroad then you don’t need to come to Mumbai and then use the domestic airlines because Trivandrum is also an International Airport so that you can directly visit or land in the Trivandrum via so many international flights as well. Also if you are coming from the Bangalore side then the plane journey will take around one hour only.  Trivandrum airport also has a large parking area which allows you to park your vehicles very easily. Once you have reached the airport of Trivandrum you can either take the public transport such as a bus or just use a cab to enter the city.

If you are pretty tight on your budget then you can simply just use the trains. You will find many trains connecting to the Trivandrum as it is one of the main spots in Kerala. with the help of trains, you can easily visit the Trivandrum as it is connected to most of the major train lines.

If you are somewhere near in the area like Kovalam or Varkala then you can just use the bus. Kerala also provides lots of bus services within the state so that you can easily travel. If you are very short on time then I would recommend you to use the flight transport to reach the Trivandrum or else you can just use the Trains or buses to reach there. From Mumbai to Trivandrum the train journey takes up to around one and a half day period to reach.

If you are planning a road trip from Mumbai to Trivandrum then beware because it will take you a couple of days to reach there, but you will be able to enjoy the roads through almost three different states including Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala. The approximate road distance is around 1800kms. So it will be a long journey. It is one of the richest temples in the whole world. This temple is dedicated to Lord Ananta an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This temple is an excellent example fusion architecture between Keralyian architecture and Dravidian architecture. This temple is architecturally similar to the Perumal temple located in Kanyakumari District. This deity was mainly worshipped by the royal family called Travancore which used to rule over Trivandrum for many years. Before making a visit to the temple you need to understand that you are not allowed to wear jeans or leggings may it be men or woman. You need to wear Mundu (type of “dhoti”) a traditional Keralyain wear which will be provided for you once you visit there. Women can visit the temple in the Saree. There is no exact record of when this temple was built or when the shrine or statue of Lord Ananta was established and by whom. This is another temple which is a must visit if you are ever planning to visit the Trivandrum. This temple is situated in the East Fort in the heart of the Trivandrum city. As the temple’s name suggests the main deity of this temple is Shree Maha Ganapathy meaning Lord Ganesha. The idol is placed in the seating position with the right leg folded stance. This temple is situated very close to the Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple. This temple includes over 32 Sculptors in which all the different forms of Lord Ganesha are shown. The temple is maintained by the Indian Army. This temple is very near from the Trivandrum Railway station and it is almost around 10kms from the Trivandrum Airport. Along with Lord Ganesh, people come here also to worship other deities such as Lord Ayyappa, Goddess Durga, Nagaraja, and Brahmarakshas.
