2. Elephanta Caves

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, these sculpted Caves are located 10 kilometers east of the Gateway on Gharapuri Island ( city of Caves) dating between 5th and 8th centuries. These Caves are sculpted from solid basalt rock. It comprises of 7  Caves. Of them, 5 are in lower west side and 2 in the eastern top of the hillock.
