This is a newly launched scheme of Indian railways which is introduced by the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation. This is an interesting scheme in which user can deposit their money in E- wallet of IRCTC and can use this money while booking their train ticket. IRCTC E-Wallet is a rolling deposit scheme in which user can deposit their money and can use this money while booking an online train ticket. This service is very easy to use, only you need to register in the IRCTC E-Wallet first. Here we will tell you the step by step procedure of IRCTC wallet Registration.

How to Create eWallet Account in IRCTC:

It is very easy to create E-wallet in IRCTC account, before creating it you must have IRCTC account. If you don’t have an IRCTC account then fist create an account in the official site of IRCTC. For E- wallet registration you must need following documents:

  • PAN Card
  • Debit Card
  • IRCTC user account
  • Rs. 250 /- for one-time registration

IRCTC E-Wallet Registration Guidelines:

  1. First get IRCTC Login to your account with valid User ID and Password
  2. One new page will appear on screen, in which one link will appear ie “You are not a member of E-wallet, to become a member click here for registration”
  3. Click on that like
  4. After clicking on that link, one form will appear on your desktop screen.
  5. Enter your PAN card number and First Name
  6. Then you will see one message on your screen i.e “You PAN card is verified successfully, kindly proceed further for payment.”
  7. After that create your transaction password and re-enter it for confirmation.
  8. Select your payment option
  9. Click on term and condition
  10. Then click on Make Payment option
  11. After making payment, you will receive a message, ‘Successful Registration’

Limitation Of eE-Wallet Scheme:

  • User cannot use IRCTC E-wallet to book your tatkal ticket
  • User cannot use E-wallet service from 8 Am to 12 PM
  • The deposit amount of E-wallet is non-refundable.

How to Deposit Amount in the IRCTC eWallet Account:

It is very easy to deposit money in E-wallet account. In IRCTC account there are many payment gateway options to pay for train tickets. But IRCTC E-wallet option is amazing and different, it is linked with IRCTC user account so that user can book tickets quickly than before. Here we mentioned procedure to deposit money in E-wallet:

  1. Login your E-Wallet account.
  2. Then click on E-wallet
  3. Click on the E-wallet Deposit
  4. Select the amount that you would like to deposit in your IRCTC E-wallet
  5. Confirm the deposit amount
  6. Select the payment option.
  7. The minimum amount of E- Wallet deposit is Rs.100 to a maximum amount is Rs.10000/-

Note: User can only deposit multiples of Rs.100 /- and this amount is non-refundable. The user can only use this amount for booking the train tickets. Once the amount is successfully deposited in E-wallet, the depositor will receive a confirmation message. Now user can also deposit money with the help of net banking. In the E- wallet Navigation, a user can check all the deposit history and transaction made to book train tickets.

How to Book E-ticket through IRCTC eWallet:

Now, when you book the train ticket online, one more additional payment option is listed along with existing payment mode i.e E-wallet. It is very simple to book train ticket through IRCTC E-wallet. Only you need to select E-wallet option and use the deposited amount. Here we mentioned the step by step procedure to use IRCTC E-wallet for booking railway ticket:

  1. Login your E-wallet account
  2. Enter your transaction password
  3. Select the amount and make the payment.
  4. For every transaction, you will be charged Rs.5
  5. Use can only book the train ticket through E-wallet when the E-wallet amount is more than the cost of the ticket.
  6. If a user cancels the booked ticket then the amount will refund to their respective eWallet account.

How to Book Tatkal ticket through IRCTC eWallet:

As we know, tatkal tickets are very limited and getting Tatkal ticket is just like winning a marathon because of its huge demand. For booking Tatkal ticket, every second means a lot because thousands of people are trying to book a tatkal ticket at the same time. So getting the tatkal ticket booked depends on your luck. Sometimes it happens that amount is deducted from the user’s account but they not get booked ticket. However, IRCTC does not allow to book a tatkal ticket through IRCTC eWallet. Every day from 8 am to 12 pm, a user cannot use E-wallet to book a train ticket. So if you are lucky and few tickets are left in tatkal quota then you can book that ticket after 12 AM.

The user can deposit money in IRCTC eWallet at any time, but it should not exceed Rs. 10000/-. There is no validity to using this deposited amount, you can use it whenever you want. Since the deposit is not refundable, so be careful while depositing the amount. IRCTC takes only 2 to 3 minutes to connect with payment gateway and sends you the confirmation message.
