Top 10 fastest trains in India

India has world’s fourth largest railway track and every day millions of people used to travel by train.In our previous articles, we mentioned all the schemes and features of IRCTC that are introduced to facilitate Indian citizens. Now I am going to tell you about top 10 fastest train of India. By the way, all trains of India are fast and best source of transportation for a long journey. But Indian railways has introduced some super fast trains that take minimum time for the longest distance. The stoppage of these superfast trains are few, therefore, they reach to the destination station in less time as compared to other trains.

Top 10 fastest trains in India are :

1. Bhopal Shatabdi

Bhopal Shatabdi is one of the super fast trains of India having a speed of 155 km/h on New Delhi to Agra.

The train New Delhi Habibganj Shatabdi Express links with metro cities like New Delhi, Gwalior and Bhopal for business and pilgrimage. Every day thousand of people travel in this train so reach their destination soon. The price of Bhopal Shatabdi train is quite high and it is difficult to get confirmed ticket in it.

2. Gatimaan Express 12050

Gatimaan Express is also one of the fastest trains that connect New Delhi and Agra only in 20 minutes. Its running speed is 160 km/hr and it connects all the routes of Delhi and Agra. Every day thousand of people travel by this train. As we all know Delhi and Agra is a tourist place, therefore, everyday number of people travel by Gatimaan Express 12050 train.

3. Rajdhani Express (Mumbai-New Delhi)

Mumbai Rajdhani express is a super fast train which runs between Mumbai to Delhi. It is the fastest train in India in which many people travel every day. The Rajdhani train is one of the expensive trains of India, it provides food and all the other accommodations in the train. This is full AC train and its ticket cost is high as compared to other fast trains.

4. Sealdah Duronto (Sealdah-New Delhi)

New Delhi Duronto Express is one of the best superfast express trains of India. It runs between Sealdah and New Delhi and takes few hours to reach the destination station. Duronto Express trains are long-distance nonstop trains and It is the first Duronto Express train the Indian Railways.

5. Kanpur Reverse Shatabdi (New Delhi-Kanpur)

The other fastest train of India is Kanpur Reverse Shatabdi, it is a second Shatabdi Express Train for Kanpur Central after Lucknow Swarna Shatabdi Express. This is also known as Kanpur Reverse Shatabdi because its time is just opposite to Lucknow Shatabdi Express.

6. Howrah Rajdhani (New Delhi-Howrah)

The Howrah is a first Rajdhani Express which is introduced by Indian railways. It covers the distance between Howrah and New Delhi. Howrah Rajdhani is a first fully air-conditioned train and has five AC-2 tier coaches. Because of AC coaches its ticket price is high.

7. Howrah Duronto (New Delhi-Howrah)

The Howrah Duronto is also known as Kolkata Duronto Express. It is one of the popular and important trains which cover the distance of Delhi to Kolkata. New Delhi-Howrah train follows the route of Grand Chord of Eastern Zone of Indian Railways. It is one of the fastest trains for Kolkata to Delhi after Delhi Duronto Howrah Rajdhani Express and Sealdah Rajdhani.

8. Allahabad Duronto Express (New Delhi-Allahabad)

Allahabad-Duronto-Express is also known as The Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, it is an Express train and the fastest train between Mumbai and Allahabad. Allahabad Duronto is one of the superfast trains between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Allahabad Junction. It is a full air conditioner train having refurbished coaches. Because of air conditioner coaches, a cost of its tickets is slightly high and bo everyone can afford this.

9. Sealdah Rajdhani Express (Sealdah-New Delhi)

The Sealdah Rajdhani Express is a second super fast train that covers the distance between Sealdah to Delhi in a minimum time. Sealdah Duronto Express is a first fastest train of this route. Sealdah-New Delhi Express train is regularly pulled by a High-Speed locomotive and WAP 7 locomotive which is developed by Chittaranjan Locomotive Works.

10. Garib Rath (Nizamuddin–Bandra)

Nizamuddin–Bandra or Garib Rath is a fastest express train which is specially introduced for middle-class people so that they can travel in AC coaches for a low price. Mumbai Bandra T-Hazrat Nizamuddin Garib Rath train runs between Bandra Terminus and Hazrat Nizamuddin. It is a 2nd fastest train that runs with the top speed of 81.15 km/hr on the Mumbai to Delhi tracks after Rajdhani Express.
