1. Elephants Caves

At a distance of 10 kilometers from the mainland, located on the Gharapuri Island, these  Caves are home to giant Shiva sculptures of basalt rocks built around 5th and 8th centuries. The cave complex comprises of 7 caves. Of them, 5 are on lower west side and 2 on the Eastern top side of the hillock. Cave 1 is exclusively carved of manifestations of Lord Shiva. The ferry ride from the Gateway of India is equally enjoyable.

2. ISKCON temple Mumbai

Located in Juhu near Juhu beach, the temple houses beautiful paintings with minute details of the 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu and the Mahabharata for understanding of mythology. The evening aarti (pooja) is not to be missed for an enchanting experience of dance and music. Also the temple complex have many stores, the delicacies and the sweets are worth trying .

3. Shree Siddhivinayak Temple Mumbai

Dedicated to Lord Ganesha, Shree Siddhivinayak temple is one of the richest temples of Mumbai. The inner roof of the  sanctum of the  is gold plated. The wooden doors are carved with eight images of Lord Ganesha (Ashtavinayak). The temple is crowded throughout the year, managed well by the authorities. The temple is quite famous amongst the locals as well as outsiders and equally amongst celebrities. There is also a Hanuman Temple in the periphery of Shree Siddhivinayak temple.

4. Babulnath Temple

An ancient Shiva temple, seated on top of a hill near Chowpatty, it is one of the oldest temples of the city. Lord Shiva is worshipped in the form of babul tree. The temple structure is splendid with rich history behind it. You can take the elevator or climb the stairs for the darshan. It is flooded annually by Shiva devotees on occasion of Mahashivratri.

5. Shree Mahalakshmi Temple Mumbai

Situated on Bhulabai Desai Road, the temple is dedicated to Goddess Mahalakshmi. The temple contain images of the Tridevi Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati. Devotees from faraway throng to the temple during Navratri festival. There are several stalls selling all the pooja items and other paraphernalia for worship and offering.

6. Mumbai Devi temple

It is said that Mumbai gets its name from this temple, hence attracting tourist round the year. One of the old temple in the city, dedicated to Goddess Mumba(local incarnation of the Devi), popularly called Maha Amba or Great Mother. A sacred pilgrimage center for many, it was a patron of Marathi so speaking salt collectors(agri) and fisherfolk(kolis) communities of Mumbai.

7. Jain temple, Walkeshwar
