Most of the temples in Ujjain have their own Dharmshala so if you want to stay closer to the god then you can even opt for them. Dharamshala’s are very cheap and they offer you very basic facilities like. You won’t be able to get much more modern facilities in the Dharamshala.

That being said I really recommend you to visit the Ujjain, If you have no problem and are on a very tight budget then you can just opt for Dharamshala for stay instead of booking in the hotel. Or if you are going with family then you should consider Hotels.
