You can book your train ticket through COD option from BookMyTrain website, it is an authorized partner of IRCTC. This facility is also available in IRCTC mobile app, it means, now you can book your train ticket from everywhere without any money. 1. Firstly need to login to  www.bookmytrain.com, else you can download bookmytrain App and get register
   
2. After registering and successful login, Click on “Buy a Ticket” button to book journey
   
3. Now you need to select your desired source and destination station, also need to select quota and date of journey.
   
4. Here you have to select train and class to get seat availability.
   
5. Fill your or passenger details, who want to travel
   
6. Select relevant IRCTC reservation preference option, shown below image
   
7. Now Select the mode of Payment as CoD (Cash on Delivery) or E-Payment.
   
8. Before final booking review the details carefully.

Limitations Of Cash On Delivery Payment Option:

Cash On Delivery Payment Option is only be available for tickets that are booked at least 5 days prior to the travel date.

You have to pay extra charged for cash on delivery option like for sleeper class tickets, have to pay Rs. 40 extra, while for AC tickets you have to pay Rs. 60 extra.

Currently, IRCTC sells around five lakh tickets a day, however after offering cash on delivery option this number is increased and the number of failed transactions are reduced. According to the survey, only 42% people use internet banking and only 24% use Debit/Credit cards to book their trains. You can book your tickets up to 60 days before your planned journey. You are not allowed to book tickets between 8 AM to 12 AM on Bookmytrain.com because this is a time of Tatkal ticket booking. For using cash on the delivery option you have to book your tickets at least 5 days before your planned your journey.

Documents Required For Online Ticket Booking:

You don’t need to enter any ID proof details in the form while making a ticket booking at Bookmytrain. But, you must carry an identity proof with you during travel.
