Once you have reached Indore you can either opt for Bus or train or you can just take a car on rent to travel to Ujjain. Roughly the Indore to Ujjain distance by road is around 60Kms.
So if you are planning to there by road then it will take you two hours to reach there. You can even just go to the Indore Railway station and just board Indore to Ujjain Train. Along with this you also have the option to just take a bus which will also take the same time but the cost of your travel would be a lot cheaper.
So that’s how you can reach the Ujjain city whenever you are visiting from the south or south west part of India. The Indore airport is also connected to Bhopal Airport, so you can also use Airways to travel to Indore and then to Ujjain. Not only Airways will help you get there, but the trains also are very useful for easy commute, without going to Indore you can just drop off at the Ujjain station itself and start your spiritual journey right away.
Before Planning a trip there I would Highly recommend you to check the weather, If you are visiting in the winter then you should carry some warm clothing as it gets very cold during the night time. Also, I would advise you to not to take your younger children with you during the period of Kumbh Mela as the place is extremely crowded there might be a possibility that your child might get lost, So I think it would be better if you would wash your sins without losing your child.
